The break occurred on the 100 block of Conarroe Street at about 8 a.m., Water Department representatives told Daily Voice. Emergency crews shut down an 8-inch main after assessing the scene, they added.

Properties in the "immediate area" might be without water as crews continue to fix the break, the department said. The repairs have been scheduled and officials say they hope to restore service as soon as possible.

Philly water customers whose service or property has been affected by the break should call the department immediately at 215-685-6300 to report any issues.
